Shapero School Graduates 40 Nurses A farewell to the Shapero School of Nursing for 40 new practical nurses was paid Sept. 9 by (from left) Mrs. Thurma Gool, Mrs. Nadine Pobursky and Ellen Marlow. The 16th graduation class, which held graduation exercises at the Jewish Center, raised the total of Shapero graduates to close to '700 since the school was founded at Sinai Hospital in 1956. Dr. Eric J. Bradner, president of Schoolcraft College, Livonia, reminded 40 graduate practical nurses of their twofold responsibility in an address, "The Heart of Nursing." Bradner told the School's 16th gradauting class that "there is more to nursing than science and the nurse without a heart in not a nurse." Dr. Bradner, who holds an undergraduate degree from Occi- dental and a Masters and Doctorate degrees from Northwestern, has been president of Schoolcraft since its beginning in 1961. He came to Detroit from Bay City where he had served as Dean of Bay City Junior College for 12 years.
