Mrs. Arthur Lehman Dies
PURCHASE, N.Y. (JTA) — Mrs.
Arthur Lehman, for many years
honorary chairman of the Federa-
tion of Jewish Philanthropies of
New York, and a founder and
leader of the Federation's Women's
Division, died here Aug. 11. She
was 83.
Mrs. Lehman's husband, Arthur,
was a brother of the late Gov.
Herbert H. Lehman and of the
late Irving Lehman, judge on the
New York State Court of Appeals.

In Memoriam

In loving memory of our father
and grandfather, Nathan Simmons,
who died Aug. 13, 1963. Wife
Sadie, daughters Betty Korash and
Harriett Merson, and grandchil-
dren.

JACOB KROHN, 11501 Petosky,
died Aug. 14. He leaves his wife,
Lena; two sons, Harry and Dr. Sam-
uel; five grandchildren and two

Atty. Mandell Bernstein
Died Wednesday at 65

Attorney Man dell Bernstein,

19619 Shrewsbury, died Aug 18 at

age 65.
Born in New York, Mr. Bernstein
lived in Detroit for 40 years prac-
ticing law in the First National
Building. He is a graduate of the
Detroit College of Law and was a
candidate for Recorder's Court in

1929.

Mr. Bernstein, who was a com-
mentator on the Jewish Altman
Hour radio show, was a member
of Beth Abraham Synagogue, past
president of Pisgah Lodge of Bnai
Brith, and belonged to the Masons
and Shriners.
He leaves his wife, Hazel; one
son, Samuel; one daughter, Mrs.
Jerome (Diane) Solomon; and two
brothers, Nathaniel and David.

Marvin Madgy Dead at 44
General insurance agent Marvin
Madgy, 20321 Westmoreland, died
Monday at age 44.
A native of Detroit, Mr. Madgy
belonged to Temple Israel and was
a member of the Shalom. Post of
the Jewish War Veterans.
He leaves his wife, Mollye; two
sons, Neil and Jeffrey; one daugh-
tr, Mrs. Sandy (Maureen) Ashman;
his mother, Mrs. Sophie Madgy;
two brothers, Max and Dr. Milton;
and one sister, Mrs. Milton (Janet)
Elford.
