Menasha Skulnik Emerges Anew as Great Comedian, Superb Performer at Northland Menasha Skulinik is here! "Enter Laughing" is his wife, who For many years, the news that appears as Anna Roman. In more recent years, Skulnik has appeared here on the English stage — again drawing very large audiences. He is back again, in a comedy, "Enter Laughing," which, as many now are saying in recognition of his great talent, can also be called Exit Laughing as well as Enter to witness his performance. He doesn't have a major role in the Northland Playhouse pro- duction in which he will con- tinue to play here through Sun- day. But there is no denying that Menasha Skulnik still is the great force in a play in MENASHA SKULNIK Halberstam-Mick el. Engagement Told ance with a speech of more than 10 minutes in which he reminisced, commented on world affairs, told stories. He punned at his own ex- pense, said he is not the greatest of actors, not as great as Sammy Davis Jr., "but," he commented, "I was a Jew before him." Martin Huston's acting was the most noteworthy. Richard Waring makes a good contribution to the play's merits, and there is an ex- cellent supporting cast. Martin Huston has the role of the lad who gets caught up in one farcical deception after another as he tries to hide from his em- ployer and his anxious parents the double life he leads while he works as a messenger by day and acts in a speedy pass-the-hat theatrical troupe by night. The stage-smit- ten youth's simultaneous involve- ments with three girls provide still more sources of merriment. "Enter Laughing" will be fol- lowed at Northland by the Broad- way musical comedy hit "Came- lot," starring Patricia Morison, opening on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Northland Child- ren's Musical Theater will present its final production of the season, "The Elves and the Shoemaker," with performances at 2 p.m. Aug. 21, and 11 a•m. and 2 p.m. on Aug. 28.
