Bnai Brith Human Rights
Exhibit at the Fair

Bnai Brith opened an exhibit
at the World's Fair highlighting
historic documents that deal with
the struggle for human rights
since the 13th century.
A rare 700-year-old parchment
copy of the i\Iagna Carta — the
only one in existence in the West-
ern hemisphere — is a feature
of the display at the Fair's post
office and exhibit hall.
This early version of the Great
Charter, owned by Justin Turner
of Las Angeles, who has placed it
on permanent loan to Bnai Brith,
originally belonged to one of the
English barons who forced King
John to sign a "rule of law" at
Runnymede in 1215.
The Post' Office, in cooperation
with the Bnai Brith exhibit, has
included a collection of stamps
commemorating important, events
in man's struggle to —;vance hu-
man rights, and the original art
work and engraving for the re-
cently-issued Magna Carta stamp.
The exhibit, titled "Let Free-
dom Ring," includes reproductions
of the Charter of Rhode Island,

At a recent cocktail party, the
engagement of Helen Stotzky to
Mitchell August was announced by
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Stotzky of Southwood Ave., South-
field. Mr. and Mrs. Harold August
of Wisconsin Ave., are the parents
of the prospective bridegroom.
The bride-elect attends Michigan
Lutheran Medical College. Her fu-
ture husband attends Detroit In-
stitute of Technology.
The couple plans a Dec. 26 wed-
ding.

permitting Jews to own prop-
erty; the Civil Rights Act of 1965;
and other documents.
"Let Freedom Ring" will be at
the Fair until Sept. 20. It will
then become a traveling exhibit to
be displayed on college capuses
throughout the country,

Plan 'Bible Land' Project

TEL AVIV (JTA)—A check for
$100,000, the first installment a
several million dollars to go to-
ward building a "Bible land" on
a five acre plot on the outskirts
of Holon, a suburb of Tel Aviv,
was presented to the town's mayor,
Pinhas Eylon, by Emanuel Henig-
man, of Memphis, Tenn. His col-
league in the project, Asfran Wil-
ensky, of Jacksonville, Fla., pledged
to raise the rest of the money by
1970.

The third annual night of sports,

troit Bnai Brith bowling leagues
and their parent lodges, will take
place 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Ander-

will be demonstrations on ball
handling and shooting by members
of the Detroit Piston basketball
team, a one-man volleyball team
