`Enter Laughing' to Star Skulnik

Menasha Skulnik, venerable;
stage star who has been making
people laugh and cry for 50 years,
heads the cast of 1.;:•*:
"Enter Laugh-

which had Broad-

roaring for over
a year, when it
comes to North-

quent roles in "The Flowering
Peach" and "Uncle Willie" brought
further praise.
"Enter Laughing" is about the
adventure of a clumsy delivery
boy when he becomes stagestruck,
played by Martin Huston, who also
teamed with Skulnik several years
ago at Northland Playhouse in
"Come Blow Your Horn."
Based on an autobiographical
novel by Carl Reiner, who after a
ludicrous start did become a suc-
cessful actor, producer and writer
for TV, "Enter Laughing" was
written by Joseph Stein, co-author
of "Take Me Along." "Plain and
Fancy" and other musical comedy
hits. Its tale of a teen-ager trying
to cope with the problems of love
and a career was described by New
York critics when it began its
year's run on broadway in 1963 as
the saga of a Penrod with a Bronx
accent.
