for Mrs. Sadie J. Freeman, of the
Park Shelton Hotel, who died Wed-
nesday at the age of 80.
A native of St. Clair and a. resi-
dent of Detroit nearly all her life,
Mrs. Freeman was well known
here and had been actively asso-
ciated with Temple Beth El and
the ORT whose women's division
she helped found here.
Her late husband, Alexander,
who died in 1960, was an officer
and director of the Commonwealth
Bank.
Her son, Alwyn Freeman, who
became known for his work in in-
ternational 1 a w in Switzerland,
presently is a Commonwealth Bank
director.
She also is survived by a daugh-
ter, Mrs. Royal (Elsa) Oppenheim;
a brother, Sidney Jacobs; sisters,
Mrs. Harry E. - Byron and Mrs.
Elmer E. Zuckerman; three grand-
children and five great grand-chil-
dren.
