Volunteer Drivers Sought
for Cancer Patients

All qualified drivers willing to
contribute one day or more a week
to help transport cancer patients
to and from medical treatment
centers in Detroit are being asked
to contact the Michigan Cancer
Foundation, TE 3-0710, immedi-
ately.
Regular drivers away on sum-
mer vacations have left an unmet
need among persons w h o must
undergo regular X-ray treatments
in local hospitals, according to
Mrs. Marvin Dornbrock, volunteer
transportation chairman for met-
tropolitan Detroit. No physical
strength is needed.

Frank Mersky, at a celebration
marking Israel's 17th year of
statehood. 8:30 p.m., Aug. 16, at
Cong. Beth Yehudah. Louis Bassin,

Mersky Mersky is a
longtime member of the society
and has held many offices. He
is active in various communal
causes.
Mr. and Mrs. Mersky are leav-
ing on a trip to Israel early in
September, and the affair will be
a "Bon Voyage" party. A musical
program will be provided, and re-
freshments and Israeli wine will
be served.
The Berdichev - Keshenev So-
ciety's Israel Bond affair last year
resulted in Israel Bond subscrip-
tions totaling $20,000.
