The bride wore a Bianchi gown of silk organza and peau de soie appliqued with blush pink silk peau de soie flowers. It was styled with a scoop n e c k l i n e, short sleeves„ set-in natural waistband and a controlled, bell-shaped skirt. A removable panel train of the ap- pliqued peau de soie fell to chapel length. The bride's headpiece, a crown of seed pearls and tear- drops, held a pouf veil of silk illu- sion. She carried a spray of Euch- arist lilies and butterfly roses. Matron of honor for her sister was Mrs. Robert D. Paster of Canoga Park, Calif. Bridesmaids were Barbara Kaufman, sister of the bridegroom, and Natalie Ross. - The bridegroom was served by Gary Shingles as best man. Serving as ushers were Barry Komisaruk, Allen Kaufman and Robert Paster of Canoga Park. Honorary ushers were Alvin Tor en and Peter Toren. After a honeymoon in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, the couple will make its home in Royal Oak. • Marriages GLAZER-KANFER: The Jewish News regrets an error in the an- nouncement of the marriage of Judith Ann Kanfer to Lawrence Glazer last week. The report left the erroneous impression that Mr. Glazer's father was deceased. Couple Celebrating Golden Anniversary MR. AND MRS. ABRAHAMS Mr. and Mrs. Henry Abrahams, 19321 Evergreen, are observing their 50th wedding anniversary to- day. Married in New York City in 1915, they have called Detroit their home since 1929. The event will be celebrated at a family dinner Sunday at Carl's Chop House. Senate to ratify the geno- cide convention signed by the na- tions of the United Nations. In another resolution it urged the revision of the 1924 Immigra- tion Act to liberalize immigration policy and to eliminate discrimina- tory provision which based admis- sion on national origin. Sessions were addressed by Baba Idelson, deputy speaker of the Knesset and head of Moetzet Hapoalot; and Harris Wofford, associate director of the U. S. Peace Corps, who praised Pioneer Women's work in behalf of Israel's women and new immigrants. Ra- chel Ben-Zvi, farmer first lady of Israel, who was to attend the con- vention but could not make the trip because of illness, sent a spe- cial message. Mrs. Rose Kaufman of New York and Cleveland was elected president, succeeding Mrs. Blanche Fine, who served for two years. Pioneer Women has raised a total of $2,046,652 during the past two years, it was announced by Mrs. Fine. She said that a total $4,712,670 in Israel Bonds have been sold by the organization during the same period. This brings the total amount raised by Pioneer Women for Israel Bonds since 1951 to $25,007,720. Pioneer Women also raised $1,000,000 for the completion of the "Hevel Negev" project of the Jewish National Fund for the re- clamation of land in the Negev area from Dimona to Sde Boker, Mrs. Fine reported. The organ- ization was presented at the con- vention with a citation by the JNF for its efforts on behalf of the project. Mrs. Fealk Elected 1st Vice President of BB District 6 Mrs. Philip Fealk, 18075 Appo- line, was elected first vice presi- dent of Bnai Brith Women, District 6 at the annual Midwest convention in Chicago. Over 300 delegates from eight Midwestern states and four provinces in Canada attended the four-day convention. Newly elected members of the board of directors include Mes- dames Leon Dreylinger, Sidney Eidelman and Harold Robinson, all of Detroit, and Mrs. Jack Sayles of Oak Park.
