A new school started in Detroit
Monday, at 23 E. Adams. The Wal-
dorf School of Detroit and its tech-
niques are presently being ex-
plained in a workshop semi mar
continuing through July 24, con-
ducted by 24 experts in Waldorf
education who have come here
fom New York, California and
Europe. Highlight of the program
is _ a Eurythmy plan characterized
as visible speech and visible song.
It is an art of movement inaugur-
ated by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, found-
er of the original Waldorf School

"NEVER TOO LATE," the rol-
licking comedy that ran 1,007 per-
formances in New York, from
Fall 19 62 to Spring 1 965,
to become the 14th longest-run-
ning play in Broadway history up
to that time, opened at Northland
Playhouse Tuesday, with motion
picture-stage-television stars Andy
Devine and Vivian Blaine topping
the talented cast. Opening on
July 20 will be the popular Broad-
way comedy hit of a few years
ago, "ANNIVERSARY -WALTZ,"
starring Dan Dailey.

A new book by Abram Tertz,
the anonymous Russian author
whose works are smuggled out of
Russia to the West, will be pub-
lished July 14 by Pantheon. THE
MAKEPEACE EXPERIMENT is
a satirical tale of life in the -Soviet
Union today which Andrew Field
has said "may well be the most
important Russian book of this de-
cade."

All resident artists of Michigan
are eligible this year to enter orig-
inal works in the Art Exhibition at
the State Fair, which opens Friday,
Aug. 27, and runs through Mon-
day, Sept. 6.
In previous years, artists must
have won awards at regional muse-
um or gallery exhibitions in the
state.
Besides opening up the exhibi-
tion to all of the state's artists,
the show has been expanded to
three classes. They are oil-based
media, water color-based media,
in Stuttgart, in which the dynam-
ics of speech and music are active
throughout the whole body.

Five leading members of the
Stratford Festival company will
be hosts for the concerts of cham-
ber music to be presented in the
Stratford Festival Theatre. Doug-
las Cambpell, Peter Donat, Fran-
ces Hyland, Leo Ciceri and Tony
van Bridge Will each act as com-
mentator on one program to intro-
duce the works being performed.
The commentaries are being writ-
ten by LOUIS APPLEBAUM. The
concerts will begin July 24 and
continue until Aug. 28.
