Labor Zionist-Landsmanshaften Drive ZOA Convention Nets $225,000 in Israel Bond Sales Reviews Israeli, Domestic Issues NEW YORK—The 68th annual convention of the Zionist Organi- zation of America opened Thurs- day at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel with the participation of some 1,000 delegates and alternates from all parts of the country. The opening session was high- lighted by the presidential address of Dr. Max Nussbaum, in which the outgoing ZOA President re- viewed the problems confronting the future of the Zionist move- ment, the position of world Jewry and the role of American Zionists in the efforts to combat the cul- tural disintegration of the Ameri- can Jewish community. Guest speakers included Israel Ambassador Avrah am Ha r man, Senator Jacob K. Javits and Mayor Robert F. Wagner. Devoted to the theme "Israel and Zionism—Partners in Jewish Survival," the four-day sessions will be marked by discussions and action on all vital issues encom- passed in the program of the Zion- ist movement. For the first time in 25 years the convention will, at its Friday morning session, discuss and vote upon a basic revision of the ZOA constitution.
