Following the ceremony, there
was a dinner-dance at the Statler-
Hilton Hotel, after which the
couple left for a trip to Bermuda.
Upon their return, they will make
their home in Ann A- •bor where
they will continue their studies.
The bride's sister, Victoria Joy
Miller, was maid of honor. Her
bridesmaids were Joan Pearl Len-
hard, sister of the bridgegroom,
and Barbara Anne Davis.
Ned Lenhard, the bridegroom's
father, served as best man. Seat-
ing the guests were Benjamin
Craine, Alan Frenkel,- Lawrence
Graber, Paul Grant, Richard
Grant, Paul Miller, Alan Peck,
Douglas Ross and Marshall Tru-
bow.
The bride wore a gown of Brus-
sels lace over peau de sole. Fash-
ioned in modified Empire style, the
bodice of the gown had a square
neckline formed by the scalloping
of the lace. It had elbow-length
sleeves and ended in a belt of peau
de sole. The straight-lined lace
skirt dropped to floor length, form-
ing an apron that revealed a pouf
of the peau de soie at the back. A
full cathedral-length double tiered
veil of illusion was held to her
head by an open pillbox- banded
with a velvet bow and topped with
flowerets of the lace and Stephano-
tis. She carried a French bouquet
of flowers, set off on a ruffle of
heirloom lace which was part of
the wedding gown of her great,
great maternal aunt.

First Jew Is Named
a Governor at Yale

NEW HAVEN—Banker William
Horowitz was elected the first
Jewish member of the Yale Corpo-
ration, governing board of the uni-
versity, Sunday. He also is the first
non-Protestant chosen at the uni-
versity founded by Congregational-
ist ministers in 1701.
Last year, Horowitz circulated
a petition among Yale alumni to
get himself on the ballot, but he
was defeated by Rep. John V.
Lindsay, now candidate for New
York City mayor.
When he was not renominated
this year by an alumni commit-
tee, Horowitz again got more
than 250 names on a petition so
he would be eligible to run.
When it was learned of his elec-
tion in nationwide balloting,
1,000 alumni winding up a re•
union cheered Horowitz.

Chairman of the Connecticut
State Board of Education, Horowitz
is president of the General Bank
and Trust Co. Active in Bnai Brith
and in the New Haven Jewish
Community Council, Horowitz
served as the council's social plan-
ning committee chairman and
treasurer of the New Haven Jewish
Center. He is a founder and past
president of the Friends of the
Yale Hillel Foundation.
