Engineer Louis Winston Succumbs at Age 40 Louis N. Winston, an engineer for the Hydro Manufacturing Co. of Royal Oak, died Wednesday at age 40. He lived at 18292 Washburn. Mr. Stolsky, first president of the Merkaz, lay Orthodox group, held that post for 10 years and served as president of Cong. Beth Yehudah for 20 years. He was secretary of both the free loan association of the congregation and the Chevra Kadisha. Perhaps one of the jobs for which he was best known was as secretary of the Stolsky Women's Eur op e an Welfare Organization since 1920, when he first came to this coun- try from Keltz, Poland. A Hebrew teacher when he ar- rived here, Mr. Stolsky later turn- ed to the insurance business and became active in organizational work. Among his other activities he counted Yeshivath Beth Yehu- dah, Radomer Society, Chesed shel Emes, Augudath Israel, Yid- Who passed away June 18, 1963 (26 days in Sivan). LeVine, who was with the advertising staff of the Detroit Times before its demise, died Sunday at age 57. Born in Toronto, she lived here 55 years. Widow of the late David M. When he came to this country, Mr. Stolsky was asked by the Women's European Welfare Or- ganization to be their correspon- dent with European families seek- ing to immigrate to the United States. MT. Stolsky, who had to leave most of his family in Keltz so he could prepare for their com- ing three years later, took the post as a paid secretary. Later, the post became a voluntary one, but he continued to correspond with the organization's "children" in many languages—he knew Russian, Pol- ish, German, Hebrew and Yiddish. Married to the late Grace Stol- sky, who died last year, Mr. Stol- sky leaves two sons, Morris D. Stol and Sidney; a daughter, Mrs. Sam (Rose) Rubin; six grandchil- dren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dr. Morris Raskin, 55, Chief of Staff at Plymouth General Hospital, Dies Dr. Morris Raskin, chief of staff at Plymouth General Hospital, died June 11 at age 55. Dr. Raskin, 4782 Crestview, Birmingham, was the organizer of the United Auto Workers Health Center here in 1946 and was medi- cal director of the Lakeside Medi- cal Center.
