SHELDON GROSBERG Judith Lynn Stamell became the bride of Sheldon Irwin Grosberg in a recent candlelight ceremony in the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel. Rabbi Richard Hertz officiated. Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin B. Stamell of Wildemere Ave. and Mr. and Mrs. David Grosberg of San Carlos, Calif. The bride wore a gown of silk organza over taffeta, with an open neckline, short sleeves and fitted cummerbund of hand- corded Alencon lace. The floor- length, dome-shaped start and chapel train were bordered in garlands of matching lace. She wore a mantilla of silk organza and lace and carried white roses and Stephanotis. Barbara Grosberg, the bride- groom's sister, and Donna Green served as maids of honor. Laurence Grosberg served his brother as best man. Ushers were Jared and Jonathan Stamell, the bride's brothers; Irving Feldman, Richard Sisler, and Allen Freed- man. The couple will live in Baltimore. Council Approves Pending Michigan Educational Bill The Jewish Community Council expressed its opposition to Senate Bill No. 108 in a statement read at a hearing of the Michigan House of Representatives education commit- tee. . It was read by G. Vernon Leo- pold, a Detroit attorney who is a member of the Council's commu- nity relations committee and the chairman of the legal committee of the Michigan regional advisory b o a r d of the Anti-Defamation League. The Council stated that the language of this bill giving aid to "s chool children in nonpublic schools" provides aid to nonpublic institutions in the guise of thus aiding the child. It went on to say that passage of Senate Bill No. 108 would be a) violative of the principle of church - state separation, a n d b: would weaken public education. A member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society and Phi Beta Kappa, he has received nine scholarships during his years at Wayne. He plans to intern at Henry Ford Hospital, later specializing in internal medicine. Harvey L. Eichner, son of the Theodore Eichners, 18953 Cherry- lawn, belongs to Phi Beta Kappa and has received several schol- arships. A 1958 graduate of Mum- ford High, he holds a BA from Wayne State.
