not far. He has
opened new and
larger quarters
at 24900 Cool-
idge, in the Dex-

Increased business necessitated
the move to a location where
there would be greater parking

The center carries a complete

Romney Condemns USSR Persecution
Governor George Romney point-
ing out that 3,000,000 Soviet Jews
are not allowed to exercise their
religious individualism, which is
what has made the United States
so great, stated in a message to
Bnai Brith:
"As is so often the case, our
Jewish brethren are in the fore-
front of the fight for religious
freedom and as a result have

Romney said that in the Soviet
Union today, "All religious minor-
ity groups are being subjected
to harassment and persecution
aimed at the creation of a totali-
tarian mass society allowing no
differences, seeking nothing
greater than Marxian material-
ism."
Of the Jews, he said, "Their
great cultural heritage which has
contributed so significantly to the
ideas we profess in America, are
being systematically rooted out.
Slander and villification and capi-
tal punishment are but some of
the tools being used by Soviet
authorities.
"As American citizens, we can-
not remain indifferent to the
plight of that country's (Soviet
Union) Jews who are the last
remnant of a community that was
decimated by the Nazis . . . this
tragic situation outrages the
moral sensibiilties of world
opinion," he added.
The message concluded by urg-
ing . the Soviet government, on
moral and humanitarian grounds
" . . . to drastically alter their
policies,—to permit Jewish, Chris-
tian and Moslem groups the
religious and cultural rights to
which they are entitled; to end
anti-Semitic press campaigns; and
to allow thousands of Jews sepa-
rated from their kin by the war to
rejoin their families abroad if
they wish."

Dann Calls on Bar
to Intervene in
Ruby Conviction
Detroit attorney Sol Dann has
asked the American Bar Associa-
tion to intervene in the Jack Ruby
murder case, now under appeal to
the Texas Court of Criminal Ap-
peals.
Dann cited the recent U. S. Su-
preme Court reversal of the swin-
dling conviction of Billie Sol Estes,
which claimed radio and television
coverage affected the conviction.
The Dallas district attorney said
the high court's reversal of Estes'
conviction should not affect Ruby's
conviction because the reading of
the verdict was the only part of
Ruby's trial to be televised.
Dann said "If publicity, televi-
sion and any other such thing
was responsible for Estes' not get-
ting a fair trial, that certainly ap-
plies with more force in the case
against Ruby."
