Michigan Bank's New Bond Purchase

The Michigan Bank National Association made an additional pur-

purchase. Last year the Michigan Bank bought $50,000 in Israel
Bonds. Stanford Stoddard, president of the bank, presenting the
$25,000 check, said: "We • are happy to join with the Detroit Jewish
community in saluting Israel on the 17th year of its independence
and on the 14th year of its Bond issue. Our officers and directors
are glad to take this additional position in Israel Bonds as an ex-
pression of our confidence in Israel's stability and promising future."

Dinner Honoring Women of Valor

David Safran, chairman, an-

been completed for the Israel Bond
dinner, to be held 7 p.m. Thursday
at the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel.
The dinner will honor 22 "Wom-
en of Valor," each of whom is re-
sponsible for the sale or purchase
of $100,000 in Israel Bonds.
Guest speaker will be Ambassa-
dor Aryeh Manor, former Israel
economics minister to the United
States, who is vice president of
Bank Leumi Le-Israel, Israel's
largest banking institution.
Geula Gill, Israel's singing star,
and her trio, will head the pro-
gram of entertainment.
