Detroit pitcher Larry Sherry is
back in the bullpen after starting
two spring games. "It happens
every spring," said Sherry. "I
pitched my only shutout in Aug-
ust 1959, against Pittsburgh and I
never started again with any con-
sistency." In the Tigers' opening
game Sherry hurled three hitless
innings . . . The Houston Astros
have assigned infielder Steve
Hertz to their Durham, N.C., farm
club.
Wrestling trials for the Macca-
biah Games were held at Yeshiva
University in New York on May 2.

Plan New Screenplay

Clarence Greene and Russell
Rouse, the writer-producer-direc-
tor team of "A House Is Not A
Home," now busy preparing the
motion picture, "The Oscar" for
Joseph E. Levine and Paramount,
announce that they have signed
David Moessinger to write the
screenplay for the "Minister and
the Choir Singer," their third
Levine production based on the
Hall-Mills murder case. The fourth
film on the Greene-Rouse sched-
ule is "Khadim," a multi-million-
dollar adventure yarn for Levine's
Embassy Pictures.

Daliah Lavi, the Israeli beauty
who told the JTA during her short
sojourn in Hollywood that her
main interest is not the cinema but
life itself, now has been signed by
Columbia Pictures for her second
leading role in Irving Allen's forth-
coming film, "The Silencers" in
which she will co-star with Dean
Martin under Phil Karlson's direc-
tion. Production of the color pic-
ture, from the novel by Donald
Hamilton and a screen play by
Oscar Saul & Maurice Richlin, is
scheduled to begin Aug. 2.

Exhibition Honors Ze'ev Jabotinsky

Memorial Exhibition" marking the
25th anniversary of the death of
Ze'ev Jabotinsky, organizer of the
Jewish Legion and founder of the
Zionist Revisionist party, will be
held at the Herzl Institute, 515
Park Ave., for a month beginning
Sunday.

National Council of the United
Zionists Revisionists of America
and chairman of the American
Zionist Council, who is chairman
of the Exhibition Committee.

The exhibition will feature
a new portrait of Jabotinsky by
one of Israel's outstanding artists,

Mordechai Avniel. It will also in-
clude busts of Jabotinsky and
Tru•peldor, his long-time asso-
ciate, by the renowned sculptor,
Nathan Rappoport; a death mask
of Jabotinsky; a scale model spe-
cially prepared for this exhibition
of Beth Jabotinsky, the 18-story
building in Tel Aviv that is the
headquarters of the Jabotinsky
movement in Israel; a film pres-
entation of the ceremonies in New
York, Paris and Jerusalem last
year on the occasion of the trans-
fer of Jabotinsky's remains for re-
burial from a New York cemetery
to Israel; and excerpts in Hebrew,
English and Yiddish of recorded
addresses by Jabotinsky.

for $10,000 World Prize
