Israel expects 300,000 visitors
by the end of 1965, according to
Menachem Eyal, Midwest director
of the Israel government tourist
office, who visited Detroit this
week. He was calling on members
of the travel trade who are active-
ly promoting travel to Israel.
The number of visitors who
entered Israel in
1964 totalled
252,000, as com-
pared to 216,000
in 1963.
The tourist fa-
cilities in Israel
are among the
best in the
world, Eyal
pointed out. Is-
rael offers mo-
dern accommo-
dations, tours
a n d entertain-
ment to both af-
fluent and bud-
get-minded visi-
tors. Some new
Eyal
facilities were
added and others are under con-
struction. The new deluxe Cae-
sarea Resort Hotel offers splen-
did accommodation as well as
sports and entertainment. The
new Hilton-Tel Aviv hotel is
scheduled to open its first 450
