Sculptural paintings by Sadie
Hayms—an exhibit of experiments
in art—will be held May 28-June
17 at the Brata, a New York gal-
lery. Mrs. Hayms, 15342 West 10
Mile, Oak Park, is showing 25 of
her paintings in the one-man ex-
hibit. She is the first artist west
of the Hudson River to be shown
at The Brata, a cooperative gal-
lery. Mrs. Hayms, Whose work

1962, is a mem-
ber of the Hylo-
zoists art group.
She did some of
her art studies
at the Jewish
Center and has
exhibited at
many museums,

collection at the Municipal Mu-
seum of Safed.

REHOVOTH — A concentrated
attack on incurable diseases con-
nected with disturbances in the fat
metabolism, almost exclusive to
children whose forefathers came
from certain areas in Eastern
Europe, is being mounted jointly
by the Weizmann Institute of
Science here and the National
Institute of Health of the United
States.
The team is headed in Israel by
Prof. David Shapiro, a member of
the organic chemistry department
of the Weizmann Institute of Sci-
ence, a research associate of Dr.
Chaim Weizmann, and at Bethesda,
Md., by Dr. R. 0. Brady of the
National Institutes of Health.
Last year Dr. Shapiro visited Dr.
Brady's team and received a three-
year $100,000 grant from the Na-
tional Institutes of Health to de-
velop certain vital compounds to
deal with the diseases.
