He was 81. Dr. Van Vliet, whose offices were on Griswold, was the last of six Van Vliet brothers who lived in Detroit. He had been a prom- inent member of Ashlar Chapter of the Masons here and in the South, belonged to the Elke and to Knights of Pythias. He retired 18 years ago and went to Miami to live in 1953. Surviving are his wife, Pauline; nephews and nieces. Interment was in Royal Oak.
