Arab Pickets Choose Bitter Herbs Over Kosher Sandwiches Unique Port Huron Motor Inn Pulls Detroiters With Its Deluxe Facilities NEW YORK-An offer to break bread together failed to stop Arab picketing before the American- Israel Pavilion at the World's Fair The bread was part of six kosher bologna sandwiches. The peace offering was set out the second day of picketing by the "Action Committee on American- Arab Relations" May 1. The com- mittee was handing out leaflets urging passersby to buy United States bonds and not "Israel war bonds. An Arab picketer and an Israeli Pavilion entertainer had fought last Friday; and Sunday, when the pickets arrived at noon, they found a luncheon table arranged for them near the entrance. - Six bologna sandwiches and four bottles of Israeli beer were set out, and on the table was a large sign: "For your misguided pickets -kosher food, compliments of the American-Israel Pavilion." ot20, adkh F11111-1IIE FILACIPOILIE 0. A $5,000,000 complex of buildings and gardens, the museum is said to be the largest between Rome and Tokyo and the single most im- portant cultural institution to rise in Israel. Many Americans who contri- buted art and funds will partici- pate in a special El Al "airlift" for opening ceremonies. Among other museum features is the beginning of a permanent collection with works by Picasso, Braque, Lipschitz and many others, and there is a show of bib- lical art by Rubens, Breughel, Poussin and the famous Esther tapestries. The ' museum will house the world's finest collection of archaeological discoveries of the biblical period, and an entire wing is devoted to artifacts dating from 6,000 BCE. The permanent sculpture gar- dens will display what is perhaps the world's most extensive col- lection of sculptered masterpieces - including works by Rodin, Moore, Butler and Lipschitz, plus the million-dollar collection do- nated by Billy Rose. The most unique part of the museum is the Shrine of the Book, new home for the seven original 2,000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls and the original letters of Bar-Kochba. White ceramic stones form the exterior of this structure which resembles the top of one of the jars in which the scrolls were found. Fountains of Water play upon the ceramic dome which covers the subterranean cave-like exhibition room. HELD OVER - "MARY POPPINS" Julie Andrews, Dick VanDyke MON. thru THUR.
