Marguerite Cullman, who has
hacked more than 300 plays on
Broadway and is the author of sev-
eral best-sellers, including "Occu-
pational Angel," will be guest
speaker at the Detroit Section, Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women's
annual luncheon meeting noon
Tuesday at the Town and Country
Club.
Mrs. Cullman, who has backed
such playwrights as Arthur Miller,
T. S. Eliot, Tennessee Williams
and Sherwood Anderson, will dis-
cuss the triumphs and pitfalls
awaiting backers of theatrical pro-
ductions.

election and installation of officers

will be given by

elected a national vice president.
The committee planning the
meeting includes Mrs. Harold
Kaufman. program chairman, as-
sisted by Mesdames Richard Pren-
tis, C. I. Sarasohn, Norman Wietz,
William Parnos and Samuel S.
Willis.
Two new projects which the Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women
have recently undertaken includes
"WICS" and a program to expand
educational opportunities for Is-
rael's culturally disadvantaged
children.
WICS is an interfaith, interra-
cial group which will help the
government recruit and screen ap-
plicants for the Women's Job
Corps set up under the Economic

Opportunities Act of 1964. Joining
with Council in Detroit are the
United Church Women, the Na-
tional Council of Negro Women,
and the National Council of Catho-
lic Women.
The new Council Israeli pro-
gram will be composed of three
research projects whose essential
purpose is to realign school cur-
ricula, as well as teacher-training
programs. The studies will be car-
ried on by the Hebrew University
John Dewey School of Education,
which is supported by the Nation-
al Council of Jewish Women, and
the Hebrew University High
School, for which the women's or-
aanization recently built a $500,-
000 campus.

Children With Asthma

Detroit League, Children's Asta-
ma Research Institute and Hospi-
tal, will hold its donor luncheon

MRS. LEONARD STOBINSKY

Colleen Hamburg became the
bride of Leonard Stobinsky in a
recent ceremony at Raleigh House.
Rabbi Moses Lehrman officiated.
The couple are the children of
11,1r. and Mrs. Jacob Hamburg,
24090 Eastwood, Oak Park, and
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Stobinsky,
25121 Rue Versailles E., Oak Park.
A gown of silk organza was worn
by the bride, who carried white
orchids.
Rena Rott was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Barbara Ole-
shansky and Karen Hamburg, the
bride's sister. Mrs. Sadie Payne,
the bride's great-grandmother from
Sioux Falls, S. D., also was in the
bridal party.
Best man was Harold Stobinsky,
the bridegroom's brother. Ushers
were Irving Stein and Harvey Fink.
After a honeymoon in Spain,
Portugal and the Canary Islands,
the couple will live at 25990 Rad-
clift, Oak Park.

Mrs. Richard M. Hartenstein,
director of Bnai Brith Women Dis-
trict 6, will make her inaugural
visit to Detroit next week. On
Tuesday and Wednesday, she will
conduct leader-
ship sessions for
chapter presi-
dents and offic-
ers as well as
Council officers.

Mrs. Hartenstein. a resident of
Chicago, has been involved in im-
plementing Bnai Brith Women's
war on poverty in that city. She
has attended several conferences
and will report on the latest de-
velopments to the Detroit women.
Originally from New York City,
Mrs. Hartenstein received her BA
degree from the City College of
New York, and her masters in
sociology from the University of
Chicago. She has worked profes-
sionally as a group leader and
social worker bah here and in
Israel.
