tiac Bonneville into service . .
used '65 Cadillac owned by mother,
Eva Pines. who was in Florida ..
Driving down Wyoming, the car
began to smoke . . Ted pulled it
into a parking space, turned the
ignition off, and with keys in hand
got out ... His eyes almost popped
when it suddenly began to move
out of the spot by itself . . . Con-
; tinning in the street, it hit a
stopped car . . . The driver got
out enraged and to the driverless
auto, hollared, "Why don't you
watch where you're going:" . .
He moved his car to the curb and
the Cadillac started going again
. . . This time into oncoming traf-
fic . . . While waving traffic away,
Ted and another fellow tried to
hold the car. back ... One shocked
woman driver didn't know which
window to jump out of when she
saw it coming toward her! . .
Finally, it stopped . . . the firemen
came and took over . . . Ever see
a brand new Cadillac with only
400 miles on it without a dash-
board? . . The insurance man
swallowed his Adam's apple when
Ted told him the story . . . called
back and said, "You tell them what
happened. They won't believe
me!"
