Fair Grounds.
The huge Garland stove, a mile-
stone to Belle-Isle-bound Detroiters
for years, was scheduled for de-
struction because its Jefferson
Ave. site was to be used for con-
struction purposes. Mark Beltaire
reported the sad situation in his
Town Crier column in The Detroit
Free Press.
When the Fair Grounds Author-
ity agreed to set up the 15-ton
stove as a permanent historical
exhibit, the Spoons agreed to turn
over their hot property gratis. The
move is scheduled for April 10.
