hailed by many as the finest in
the world . . . It has been doing
business at the same place since
1582 . . . A specialty is filets de
sole grillee Frederic . . . an en-
velope of sole, stuffed with cream-
ed, poached sea pike and served
with bearnaise sauce . . . In Rome,
Capriccio • is famed for excellent
food and wild parties . . . Their
veal scalloppina is excellent but
many find the meals at Tre Scali-
na somewhat better . . . This is
one of Rome's finest restaurants ..
Dining out in the Middle East and
southeast Asia is tricky because of
some strange agrarian practices.
THE CHEATERS IS Sandy
Hoffman's new spot, formerly call-
ed Tadian's. at 950 W. McNichols
. . . It's not a big place, but coy
and pleasant with discotheque en-
tertainment. For those who don't
know where it is, look just east
of Hamilton on Six Mile Rd. . . .
The Cheaters is a wedge-shaped
bldg. on the north side of the
street.
WHEN SERVING WINE, the
host should always pour a little
of a newly opened bottle into his
glass first in case there are any
particles of cork . . . Then he
should taste and smell the wine
to make sure it is sound.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY no
charge at Club Ali Baba . . .
Never has been any! . . . The big
beautiful spot in Highland Park
has been changed around . . . No
more Armenian motif in both the
food and entertainment depart-
ments.
WHEN TOP COMIC Jack E.
Leonard opens at the Roostertail,
April 19 . . . on show with him will
be songstress Jan Rae, married to
Detroit jeweler Norman Rapp.
