LOWELL, Mass. — Frank Gold-
man, 74, honorary president of
Bnai Brith, died here Tuesday. Mr.
Goldman was international presi-

in aiding the emergence of Israel
and in the reconstruction and re-
settlement of the European Jewish
communities in postwar years.
Mr. Goldman was also vice chair-
man of the Conference on Jewish
Material Claims Against Germany,
a member of the national commis-
sion of Bnai Brith's Anti-Defama-
tion League and the board of direc-
tors of the American-Jewish Joint
Distribution Committee, vice presi-
dent of the National Jewish Hos-
pital at Denver, a member of the
board of governors of the Hebrew
University at Jerusalem, a member
of the board of overseers of the
Group to Wage Campaign for Genocide Convention; Hits Senate 'Pigeonholing'

izations, who died at Tucson, Ariz.

She was the wife of Dr. Samuel
S. Silverberg, president of the For-
ward Association, which publishes

MOSCOW (JTA) — A series of
widely advertised events honoring
the memory of Solomon Mikhoels,
the Yiddish actor who was mur-
dered in 1948, during the Stalin
purges of Jewish intellectuals, was
launched at the Bakhrushin Cen-
tral Theatrical Museum.
The announcement came from
Novosti, the Soviet news agency
without mentioning that Mikhoels
was a victim of Stalin's liquidation
of Jewish writers and actors. No-
vosti linked the occasions merely
to the observance of his 75th
birthday. Mikhoels was born in
1890.
At the gathering here addresses
lauding Mikhoels' greatness as an
artist, and works illustrative of his
career, were presented by critics,
actors, and Boris Filippov, director
of the Central Writers Club.
The program will be repeated
March 26. On March 23, another
observance honoring Mikhoels'
memory will be held at the Central
Actors Club here, the Novosti re-
port said.
