W. Berlin Police Hunt Swastika-Painting Vandals

VEST BERLIN (JTA) — Police
continued a hunt this week for the
vandals who smeared the elevator
and the doors of the office of the
West Berlin Social Democratic
chairman with the words, "Jews
Go Away" and swastikas.

The Social Democratic weekly,
"The Voice," speculated that there
might be a link between the smear-
ing and the fact that tr a party has
criticized Egypt and Chancellor
Ludwig Erhard for the suspension
of arms shipments to Israel.

Jakob Friedrich Behrend,
a noted 19th Century German
jurist, was one of the few Jemis to
have been named to the German
Supreme Court in Leipzig.
