DeHirSh Mitiegules 9 Greenwich Village Notable, Succumbs NEW YORK-Painter, poet and reporter DeHirsh Margules, a favor- ite of Greenwich Village, died Feb. 3 at age 65. Mr. Margules, whose studio was in the Village, was considered an abstract realist, his brilliant water- colors as buoyant and "fantastic" as his life. He was said to have known "everyone" in the Village. Born in Romania, the son of a Yiddish theater director, Mr. Mar- gules was brought to this country as an infant. Some of his best work was done in Paris, where Le lived in the 1920s. Back in New York, he was a re- porter for the NeW York City News Association for many years. When it merged into the Associated Press, Mr. Margules left for a job teaching painting in a studio. His dark blue beret was well known to Madison Avenue .art pa- isons and poor Villagers seeking a handout (which he I would always oblige). His newspaper friends called him "Baron" for the Roman- ian philanthropist Baron De Hirsh. He is survived by his mother, Rosa, former actress of the Yid- dish theater; and a sister, Annette, Dentist Randolph Weber Succumbs at Age 61 Dr. Randolph B. Weber, Detroit dentist, died Tuesday.
