Mrs. Harrk. Lifshitz Dies; Descended
From Distinguished Rabbinic Family

Mrs. Naomi Lifshitz, of 13510
Rosemary, Oak Park, died Mon-
day night after a brief illness. Fu-
neral services were held at Chesed
shel Emes Wednesday. Burial was
in Toledo.
Surviving are her husband,
Harry, a prominent Mizrachi lead-

er here; two daughters, Mrs.
Harry (Ruth) Klepfish of Toledo
and Mrs. Albert (Ethel) Schlager
of Skokie, Ill., two brothers four
sisters and five grandchildren.
Her first husband was, the late
Rabbi Michael Lichtenstein of
Toledo.
Mrs. Lifshitz was active in Miz-
rachi, Jewish National Fund,
Pioneer Women and Hadassah.
The Pioneer Women inscribed
her name in the JNF Golden
Book in Jerusalem. She was a
life member of Bar-Han Women.
Her father was the noted Rabbi
Itzhak Issac Esterson, a founder
of the Mizrachi movement in Po-
land. His residence was in Plonsk,
the city of David Ben-Gurion's
birth, and when Ben-Gurion was
still a youth, Rabbi Esterson al-
ready was a leading figure in reli-
gious Zionist circles. He was a
founder of the Achuzah movement.

William Nadler Dies; ;
Prominent Insurance
Man in Community

William Nadler, 17522 Muir-
larld, for 38 years prominent in
insurance circles here, died Tues-
day at the age of 72. Funeral serv-
ices will be held today in Montreal.
For many years active in Shaarey
Zedek, Mr. Nadler was a member
of Cong. Adas Shalom, a number
of important local Jewish move-
ments and the Masonic order -
Perfection Lodge No. 486 F.&A.M.,
Union Lodge No. 3 F.&A.M. and
Moslem Shrine.
