Franklin Mortgage Sees Detroit Boom

ters to Mayor Cavanagh and the
Common Council by Benjamin Lev-
inson. president of Franklin Mort-
gage Corp.
Levinson reported that in the 25
years he has been in the mortgage
business, he has never seen a pe-
riod like the first four weeks in

1965 in which the firm received
close to $25,000,000 in home mort-
gage commitments from financial
institutions in the East.
Several years ago, he pointed
out, "it was difficult to get inves-
tors to entertain a substantial
amount of Detroit or Michigan
home mortgages." Today, however,
outside investors have recognized
Detroit's "energetic leadership."
He said there is probably more
than $100,000,000 available for
home mortgages in the greater
metropolitan Detroit area.
