WASHINGTON—Sen. Harrison A. Williams, New Jersey Democrat,
introduced Tuesday an amendment. td the Export Control Act to protect
American businessmen from the Arab boycott against Israel. Sen. Jacob
Javits was chief co-sponsor. Nineteen other senators, including Phillip

Hart of Michigan endorsed it to date.
The amendment would make it illegal for American firms to re-
spond to questionnaires sent out by the central boycott office in Damas-
cus, to provide boycott information in any other way, or to sign boycott

agreements.
