professor in Wayne State Univer-
sity's department of sociology and
anthropology, will discuss "Re-
li gi ons and Success in American
Life" 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cong.
Shaarey Zedek.
His lecture will include an evalu-
ation and critique of "The Re-
ligious Factor" by Gerhard Lenski,
a study of religion's impact on
economics and politics.
Dr. Field was formerly assist-
ant professor at the University
of Michigan, Flint College. He
is the author of "Communal Life
in Palestine" and "Citizens Par-
ticipation in Urban Renewal."
His articles and essays have ap-
peared in scholarly journals.
This lecture, open to the public,
is the third in a continuing series.
"A Fresh View of American Jew-
ish Life."
The next lecturer, Jan. 26, will
be Dr. Albert Vorspan, director of
the commission on social action of
the Union of American Hebrew
Congregations.
