on Prominent Women's Leader

Elected to Top Post
in Detroit UCS
Mrs. William Prince, honorary president of the Women's League
for Israel, accepts the scroll conferring on her the title of honorary
fellow of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem "in recognition of her
outstanding contribution to the university in its work for science
and scholarship for Israel and the Jewish people and for the progress
of mankind as a whole." Judge Louis E. Levinthal, chairman of the
university's board of governors, conferred the honor on Mrs. Prince,
the seventh woman to bold the title. The Women's League for Israel,
which Mrs. Prince served as president for 25 years, has built dor-
mitories for women, the students' cafeteria and the student center at
the Hebrew University.

to present a film program 8:30
a.m. Sunday. A full-length feature
film. "The Day the Doors Closed,"

iongrams, proceeds of which aid
the projects of the National Fed-
eration of Temple Sisterhoods.
Rabbi M. Robert Syme will lead a
discussion after the showing of the

ness leader, was elected preiident
of United Community Services
(UCS), organization responsible
for the planning of community
services and for the allocation of
Torch Drive funds to 128 local
health and welfare services.
During the year, Frank will head
the efforts of a 44 member board
of directors and hundreds of other
lay leaders in.
carrying out
the organization's
programs for the
tri-county area.
The new USC
presidenthas
been active in the
affairs of United
Community Serv-
ices for more
than 12 years. He
Frank
has held several
important posts, including major
assignments as chairman of the
organization's general planning
committee, and as a board vice
president.
He is on the United Founda-
tion Board of Directors; execu-
tive board of Detroit Area Coun-
cil, Boy Scouts of America;
trustee of , the Detroit Rehabili-
tation Institute; trustee and
treasurer of Boys' Republic; and
member of Merrill-Palmer Insti-
tute.
Currently, he is a director and
consultant for the I-T-E Circuit
Breaker Co. of Philadelphia. Other
affiliations include membership
with the Engineering Society of
Detroit and the Institute of Elec-
tronic Engineers. He is also a
trustee of Temple Beth El.
Charles H. Gershenson was elect-
ed to his first term as a UCS vice
president. Re-elected to second
terms as UCS directors were at-
torney Erwin S. Simon and Mrs.
Oscar M. Zemon.
