in the Zionist movement in civic
and community affairs participated
Wednesday night in a nationwide
tribute to Sir Winston Churchill,
sponsored by the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America at its annual din-
ner at the Statler Hilton Hotel.
The dinner highlighted the pre-
sentation of the annual Theodor
lierzl Award Gold Medallion of the
ZOA to Sir Winston Churchill in
tribute to his historic accomplish-
ments as an architect of the Jew-
ish State and protagonist of
Zionism.
The gold medallion was accep-
ted in behalf of his father by Ran-
dolph S. Churchill, only son of Sir
Winston. The Theodor Herzl
Award. which was named for the

ings were delivered by Lord Cara-
don, permanent representative of
the United Kingdom to the UN,

the ZOA.
The annual dinner marked a
two fold anniversary, the 90th
birthday of Sir Winston Churchill
and the 17th anniversary of the
passage (Nov. 28, 1947) of the UN
resolution for the establishment of
the State of Israel. Sir Winston's
birthday occurred on Nov. 30.
