By JOSEPH MEYERHOFF
My heartiest congratulations on your unanimous
election as General Chairman of the United Jewish
Appeal. My congratulations also go out to the national
leadership of the UJA for choosing a man who is so
eminently right for this post — one of the most de-
manding in Jewish life today.
Along with all my colleagues in the U.JA. I have
seen you in action on the front lines of UJA campaign-
ing, in the top councils of UJA planning and in the
on-the-spot surveys of Jewish needs overseas. That is
why I know the cause of Je‘i7ish survival and Jewish
rescue throughout the globe and Jewish reconstruction
in 'Israel will be well served by your ascension to the
highest position in the UJA.
You can be assured of the fullest cooperation from
all UJA officers as you carry on your new and arduous
responsibilities.
(Mr. Meyerhoff has just completed four terms as UJA
general chairman. He now serves as UJA honorary chair-
man of the board of the recently established Israel
Education Fund, set up as a separate program of the UJA
to build up Israel's education facilities.)
A Salute to Marjorie

ited Jewish Appeal.
Mrs. Fisher was pre-campaign chairman of the
Allied Jewish Campaigns in 1963 and 1964, and in a
number of other campaigns she has been an inspira-
tion to her fellow-workers.

husband as they arrived recently at Lydda Airport,
on their trip on an El Al plane at the start of UJA's
10th Study Mission. It was Mr. and Mrs. Fisher's
25th trip to Israel.
