An Einstein Anecdote

Leonard Lyons told this one:
At an Albert Einstein Medical
College dinner, the story was told

about two storekeepers discussing
his theory of relativity. The first

one offered this example: "If you
sit on a hot stove for a second, it
will seem like an hour. But if a
beauty sits on your lap for an

hour, it will seem like a second"
. . . The other one asked: "And
from this, he makes a living? . , .
George Alpert, head of the New
Haven Railroad, then said he'd
once repeated this story to Dr. Ein-
stein, who didn't smile, but merely
said: "No, from this I do not make

a living."
