David -Stewart Dead;
Owned Improvement Co.

David Stewart, co-owner of
Stewart Home Improvement Co.,
15014 Wyoming, until his retire-
ment because of illness, died
Wednesday at age 54.
Mr, Stewart, born in Decker-
ville, Mich., was a member of
Perfection Lodge; F.&A.M.; Adas
Shalom Synagogue; Detroit Lodge,
Bnai Brith; and Sidney Hill Club.
He lived at 18279 Santa Barbara.
Mr. Stewart leaves his wife,
Fay; two sons, Ronald and Daniel;
a 'daughter. Beverly: three broth-
ers, Joe. Sam and Meyer; and a
sister, Mrs. Ann. Jacobson.

H. Lieberman
Dead at Age 89

Herman Lieberman, the Jewish
Goodfellow who helped insure
there would be "No Kiddie With-
out a Christmas" in Detroit, died
Dec. 3 at age 89.
A charter member of the Old
Newsboys, Mr. Lieberman had a
choice spot for the annual Good-
fellow newspaper sale: West La-
fayette, where he had his Central
Cigar Store. His death came 11
days before the 51st annual sale.
this coming Monday.
Although the Old Newsboys'
Goodfellow Club was his first love.
Mr. Lieberman also found time to
belong to the Peddlers Club, rais-
ing money for handicapped chil-;
dren at Christmas.
A Detroiter for 83 years (he was
born in. Rochester, N.Y.), Mr. Lie-
berman belonged to Temple Beth
El. He was charter member of the
Traffic Club and Vortex Club and
held memberships also in Moslem
Shrine, Light Guard and Detroit
Newsboys Association.
He attended Central High School.
and was married to Rose -Rosen-
garten, now deceased. He lived at
3333 Cambridge.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs.
Alfred W. (Elizabeth) Payson; two
sisters, Mrs. Lilliam Krohn and
Mrs. Rose Patlas; and one grand-
child.
