Maurice Bisgyer, for 27 years executive vice president of Bnai BISGYER closes out a notable career with his voluntary retirement on Dec. 31. Bisgyer, who is 67, made public his decision to retire on the eve of Bnai Brith's annual board of gov- ernors meeting this week-end. During his tenure the 121-year- old Bnai Brith achieved its greatest period of growth. Membership jumped from 46.000 to its present 480,000. An annual budget for na- tional activities that was $110,000 in 1937—the year Bisgyer became operating head — now exceeds $7,000,000. Bisgyer began his career in 1919 as one of a handful of workers in Jewish social service. He spent 18 years in that field, starting as executive director of the Jewish Education Alliance in Baltimore. Later he was director of Washing- ton's Jewish Community Center and had successfully completed the construction of the building that still serves the Washington area, when Bnai Brith invited him to head its national staff. • • • Brith. • WEDDINGS • BAR MITZVAHS • SHOWERS The Grand Ballroom The Randolph Room The Cadillac Room The Ford Room The Jefferson Room Capacity 25 to 500 persons.
