A Sefer Torah, the gift of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Goldberg, will be
dedicated at a special ceremony 10
a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of
Cong. Ahavas Achim.
At that time, the final lines of
the last section of Deuteronomy
will be inscribed into the Scroll.
The Siyyum HaSefer, or Comple-
tion of the Scroll, is the traditional
way to induct a Sefer Torah into
the synagogue where it is to be
read. Jewish tradition calls for
every Jew to write, or to have writ-
ten on his behalf a copy of the
Five Books of Moses, suitable for
use at congregation worship. How-
ever, the average Jew may dis-
charge his religious obligation by
having a hand in the addition of a
letter at the completion of the
Torah.
Participating in the ceremony

will be the Goldbergs; Sanford Gor-
don, chairman of the congrega-
tion's ritual committee; Jonas
Dworin, president of Cong. Ahavas
Achim; Barney Levine, president
of its men's club; Mrs. David
Grainer. sisterhood p r e s i d e n t;
Mark Schwartz. president of the
Lahav Youth Group; and members
of" the religious school and Talis
and Tefillin Club. Rabbi Seymour
M. Panitz and Cantor Simon Ber-
manis will officiate. The public
