Rockwellss Disguise: Enters Canada
as 'Rabbis: Loses His Right to Lecture
TORONTO (JTA)—American Nazi Party leader George Rockwell,
though barred from admission to Canada, outwitted border officials
by slipping through Windsor. disguised as a "bearded rabbi," it was
reported in the Canadian press. He flew from there to Vancouver for a
scheduled talk to University of British Columbia students. However,
the talk was canceled by UBC president Dr. John MacDonald.
The students had agreed to pay Rockwell $350 for his appearance
provided he entered the country legally. Their version was that the
deal had been called off since he was admitted under false pretenses.
Rockwell left a few hours later recrossing into the U.S.A. at Douglas,
B.C.
