A special ceremony held in the
Kupat Holim Beersheba Hospital
by representatives of the Technion,
Israel Institute of Technology, and
the hospital officials, marked the
transfer of a jointly designed and
built "Shutter-Bed" to the hospi-
tal.
The "Shutter-Bed" is used in the
X-ray examination of vascular dis-
eases. It has already undergone ex-
tensive testing at the hospital and
has been pronounced highly suc-
cessful by the doctors.
The uniqueness of the "Bed" lies
in the fact that it can be used with
regular X-ray equipment and so
allows even smaller hospitals to
diagnose illnesses of this type
rather than being forced to send
the patient to a better-equipped
hospital.
