Chicago executive office of the

League, addressed the board on
the League's ongoing concern with
extremism. He referred to a new
Random House publication. "Dan-
ger on the Right," calling it "the
definitive book on the attitudes,
personnel and influence of the
radical right on the American
scene.
"The radical right. out of hatred,
fear or ignorance. is at war with
the very institutions. government
and voluntary, which are basic to
our free society." Rosen charged.
He declared that organizations
and individuals on the far right
charge presidents, Republican as
well as Democratic, with treason,
accuse Congress of passing uncon-
stitutional laws and call for the

The first is the joint session of
the American Historical Associa-
tion, the American Committee for
Irish Studies and the American
Jewish Historical Society. at the
annual meeting of the American
Historical Association. 2:30 p.m..
Dec. 30. in the Shoreham Hotel,
n- Washington.
The theme of the Joint Session
will be: "Acculturation and Iden-
tity in American Society: Irish
and Jewish Separateness Beyond
the Melting Pot." Prof. Moses
Richin of San Francisco State
College will preside. Papers will
be delivered by Prof. Irving
Greenberg, Yeshiva University.
and by Dr. William V. Shannon.
