Spain Will Pass Statute
for Religious Freedom

Jewish Committee that his govern
ment will soon pass a statute guar-
anteeing tiller

gious practice for
all denominations
in Spain.

Brandeis Gets $70,000
U.S. Grant for Chemistry

WALTHAM, Mass. (JTA)—A
grant of $70.000 for the purchase
of special equipment needed by the
chemistry department was given to
Brandeis University by the Na-
tional Science Foundation, it was
announced here. The new grant
will enable Brandeis chemists to
buy a mass spectrometer for use
in determining the mass and, in
many cases. the molecular weight
of a compound.
At the same time. it was an-
nounced that Charles E. Dockser,
of Newton Center, has given Bran-
deis a $50,000 gift to be used for
neurochemistry, instrument and
nenrophysiological laboratories.
DOckser. a director of the Greater
Boston Brandeis University Asso-
ciates,' is also a member of the
corporation of Northeastern Uni-
versity, in Boston.
