Mrs. James deRothschild Adds Gift
of .S1,000,000 to Knesset Building Fund

JERUSALEM — Mrs. Dorothy I
Rothschild, wife of James de Roths-
child. has added an additional
3,000,000 pounds ($1,000,000) to
her gifts for construction of a per-
manent building for Israel's Parlia- I
ment, Speaker K a d i s h Luz an-
nounced Monday in opening the
Knesset session.
The new gift raises to more than
10,000,000 pounds ($3,333,000) the
contributions of the Rothschild
family for the projected Knesset
building. With proceeds from the
investment of the gift money pend-
ing its use for construction, the
building fund now is more than
12,000.000 pounds ($4,000,000).
The new building, which will
dominate the Jerusalem skyline,
is expected to be r e a d y in 18
months. Currently Parliament is
house in a former hank building
to which additions have been patch-
ed on over the years.

shun Arad. former Israeli consul
in New York, arrived here to take
over the post of ambassador to
Mexico. He is scheduled to present
his letters of credence later this
week to President Adolfo Lopez
Mateos.
Arad succeeds Simcha Pratt, who
has been transferred to a foreign
ministry post in Jerusalem.
