Judge John W. Connolly, former
lieutenant governor and for 10
years a judge, is a candidate for
the Wayne County Circuit Court
bench on the nonpartison ticket.
Judge Connolly, son of the late
Judge William F. Connolly, is a
native Detroiter, a graduate of
Georgetown University and served
in the U. S. Naval Air Corps during
World aWr II. He was appointed to
the Common Pleas Court by Gov.
G. Mennen Williams to fill a va-
cancy. After serving out the unex-
pired term. he was twice elected
to that bench, each time by a large
majority.
His candidacy is endorsed by or-
ganized labor.

Dorothy Caswell, candidate for
the State Legislature from the
15th District, praised the contri-
butions women have made to their
communities.
Women want stable conditions

children, she said. As budget
watchers they spend the greater
portion of the American dollar and
are concerned with the state's
rising tax structure.
