to vote against any and every racist
demagogue" in the coming national
election.
The religious leader was speak-
ing at a convention of the National
Fedpration of Temple Sisterhoods,
District 3 at the Hotel Roosevelt,
New York.
Dr. Eisendrath told his audience
that "there are occasions when the
overwhelming majority of Jews do
and should vote along a particular
line:"
He asked, "Why do we quaver so
before this seeming specter of the
very real Jewish
vote? The
Negroes, far less secure than the
American Jews, do not hesitate or
tremble before the admitted reality
of a Negro vote where funda-
mental American principles and
basic moral teachings are at stake.
Why should the Jews," he contin-
ued, "with their historic insistence
upon cleaving to their exalted

yeshiva to leave for Israel.
Rabbi Leibowitz, leader of the
group, is the oldest son of the late
Rabbi David Hacohen Leibowitz,
founder of the yeshiva. The group
will locate in a converted building
in the Beth Hakerem section of
Jerusalem. A large portion of the
