At the St. Laurent-Israel fashion festival, which was attended
by nearly 800 women, are (from left) Betty Furness, TV and stage star,
who was the fashion commentator; Mrs. Morris L. Schaver, chairman
of the Israel Bond Women's Division, sponsor of the ninth annual
fashion show; Jacob Barmore, Israel consul general for the Midwest;
Mrs. J. Stewart Linden, fashion festival chairman, and Robert Leanne,
vice consul of France. The affair was held at Shaarey Zedek. Mrs.
David Pollack was chairman of the champagne hour which preceded
the luncheon. This was the largest number ever to attend an Israel
fashion festival. About 50 original creations were shown. Mrs. Irwin
Groner pronounced the invocation, and the singing of the anthems
was led by Mrs. Jacob Axelrod, accompanied by Eric Rosenow. Mrs.
Louis Greenberg was the winner of the "Star of Israel" diamond
creation presented by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Allan.
