Gershenson this week received another high honor from Governor George Romney by being named a member of the Higher Education Assistance Authority. In his letter of appointment, the Governor wrote to Gershenson: 'I have every confidence that you will derive personal satisfaction in this important position, and that the State of Michigan will benefit from your intelligence and vigor." Gershenson's first appointment by the governor was as a member of the Wayne State .University board of governors.
