tainment star at the annual Broth-
erhood Dinner of the Detroit
Round Table of Catholics, Jews
and Protestants, Sunday, Dec. 13,
in Cobo Hall, it was announced by
Alfred A. May, the organization's
president.
The honored guest and speaker
will be Richard E. Cross, chairman
of the board of American Motors
Corporation, former chairman of
the Civil Rights Commission. Cross
will receive the 1964 Michigan
Award for outstanding services to
better intergroup relations.
Joseph L. Hudson, Jr., is gen-
eral chairman of the dinner.

UJA Starts Fall
834,000,000 Cash
Collection Drive

The launching of the United
Jewish Appeal's fall cash drive to
raise $34,000,000 for programs of
aid in Israel and 30 other over-
seas lands by Dec. 31 was an-
nounced by Joseph Meyerhoff of
Baltimore, UJA general chairman.
The national cash mobilization
again will be directed by a com-
mittee of 60 key leaders from
every area in the United States,
headed by Israel D. Fink of Minne-
apolis.
Fink has served as national
chairman of the UJA cash collec-
tion drives in each annual cam-
paign since 1961. He also is a na-
tional chairman of the UJA and a
member of its policy-making Na-
tional Executive Committee.
