THE GIRL BEHIND the cage in
the vault of Manufacturers Na-
tional Bank on Eight Mile Rd. near
Schaefer looked at his signature
and definitely refused to allow him
in . . . It wasn't his writing, she
claimed . . . The anguished gent
with a filled money bag, who
hadn't been there in three years,
pleaded but to no avail . . . Just
then. a friend from next door at
Sidney-Hill came in and there was
a sigh of relief as our pleading
hero said that here was someone
who could verify his identity . .
The girl asked and the health club-
said, "Sure, he's Bernard
Boesky of Darbys," . . . This time
for sure Bernie didn't get in . .
His name is Bernard Kerner!

starred show features organist-
comedian Lenny Dee and tenor
Saverio Saridis.
Lenny has been a Detroit favor-
ite for years, first at the old Yea
man's and now at the Roostertail.
As organist, he has 17 Decca -al-
bums, with sales in the millions.
Saverio 'Sonny" Saridis is the
"singing cop" discovered by for-
mer Detroiter Neal Lang, who was,
at that time, general manager of

New York's Plaza Hotel. Since then
Sonny has scored with a million
selling record.
Lenny will be at the Roostertail
three weeks; Saridis, two weeks.

SMARTLY DRESSED in distinc-

tie to get in . . . The hostess
brought him one of the few cravats
kept there for just that purpose

food, put it on, walked to his table
and ordered . • . Soon, half of the
nitery was looking his way before
Lee discovered he was wearing

. . . It was more so embarrassing
since Lee is one of the best-known
tie distributors in the Mid West.
