Nicholson, Canada's postmaster
general, informed the House of
Commons that materials sent by
the National White American
Party or Birmingham, Ala., had
been banned from the mails.

Rabbi Joshua Spiro of Congregation Beth Yehudah presented a
silver-bound Torah to Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Levin at a reception given
in their honor at Oak Manor, in appreciation of their numerous
services to the synagogue. Nathan Soberman was toastmaster and
the speaker was Charles Fine. Greetings were extended by Mrs.
Pearl Koenigsberg in behalf of the Ladies' Auxiliary and by Mrs.
Sylvia Novetsky in behalf of the Sisterhood. Levin responded with
a review of his recent experiences in Israel.

Beth Yehudah Schools will ,offer
for the first time this fall advanced
training for graduates of the Beth
Jamb girls high school. Ten stu-
dents will take part in the teachers
training program 9 a.m.- to noon
daily.
For 15 years. the Beth Yehudah
schools have provided such ad-
vanced studies to young men.
Girls' courses will include modern
conversational Hebrew and student
teaching as well as basic studies
in pible and Jewish history and

Construction has began on the
new Beth Yehudah Schools build-
ing in Southfield. it was announced
by Daniel Laven. chairman of the
schools building committee. All
memorial tablets in the Dexter
building will become a permanent
part of the synagogue in the 'new
building. They are temporarily
housed in an existing building on
the construction site.
